Leicester players to return following impressive international performances

By James Wynn

Leicester City’s international players were due to return to the club today (THU,NOV19) following good performances for their countries in the past week.

Youri Tielemans, Dennis Praet, Cengiz Under, Kasper Schmeichel, Danny Ward and Kelechi Iheanaco all left Belvoir Drive to represent their nations in UEFA Nations League or African Cup of Nations qualifying games, while James Justin played and scored for England U21s at Molineux.

Tielemans had the most notable impact while away, scoring his third goal for Belgium against England to cement his country’s place in next year’s Nations League finals, while Cengiz Under also netted against Russia.

Worryingly from a Leicester viewpoint, stand-in captain Schmeichel suffered a head injury following a collision in Denmark’s game against Iceland and had to be substituted. It remains to be seen whether City’s number one will be fit for the trip to Liverpool on Sunday.
