The RSPCA has launched a campaign to make fireworks safer for pets, under the hashtag #BangOutofOrder.
In the last four years, the RSPCA has received a total of 1,543 calls about fireworks and their effects on animals.
Fireworks can cause animals great distress due to the loud noise, with, according to the RSPCA, about 62 per cent of dogs, 54 per cent of cats, and 55 per cent of horses showing signs of distress related to fireworks.
With the coronavirus pandemic still ongoing, public firework displays have been cancelled, and there has been an increase in people planning to hold their own displays at home.
