Rodgers admits Evans could miss European game

Brendan Rodgers has all but confirmed that Jonny Evans will miss tonight’s (THURS, NOV5) Europa League game against Braga.

The 32-year-old missed last week’s game in Athens after injuring his back in training, and also sat out of Monday’s win against Leeds at Elland Road.

While not ruling Evans out entirely, Rodgers admitted his countryman was a ‘big doubt’.

“We’re going to see how he is a little later on to give him every chance, but he’ll be a big doubt for the game,” Rodgers said.

“It’s just a part of his back that could click in and he could feel fine tomorrow. This one is where it affects his running and jumping. I always felt from the medical team that if it wasn’t for Thursday, he would be okay for Wolves [on Sunday].”

Leicester will look to make it four consecutive wins in all competitions against the Portuguese side, with the game kicking off at 8pm.
