Leicester has been ranked the third most progressive city in the UK in tackling social and environmental issues in a recent survey by mortgage experts Bankrate UK.
The survey rated cities in line with specific issues such as recycling and the gender pay gap and Leicester climbed up seven places from last time out.
Nottingham was down in 12th, while other local cities such as Derby finished 33rd and Birmingham came 32nd out of 50.
Finishing top was Bath with a score of 25.4 with Bristol just behind with 25.2. Both cities were up two and four places respectively from last year.
