With the academic year coming to a close, the 3rd year De Montfort University (DMU) art students are looking forward to showing off their work in a final degree show to mark the end of their university course.

The degree show will give the students an opportunity to present their work to each other and their tutors, as well as family and friends who are welcome to come and view the art pieces.

The show will also welcome lecturers from other universities, and representatives from various art galleries will also be in attendance to potentially purchase some of the art work.

Senior Fine Art Lecturer, Jamie Scott, said: “The degree show is a landmark moment for the whole of art and design.

“All the students and the staff that are here will be looking around to see how their colleagues have done.”

The students have worked all year to produce the pieces that will be on display in the degree show, and it has not always been a smooth ride for them.

Fine Art Student, Oliver Collins, said: “It is really rewarding. I found it really difficult to get it all sorted and now we’ve gotten to the end. It’s a real relief to get it finished.”

Oliver Collins stands proudly beside some of the work being presented at the degree show.

The degree show will take place this Friday(JUNE14) at the Vijay Patel building on the DMU campus and will start at 3pm.
