Leicester’s first ever Christmas market was opened yesterday on Market Place.
The market is full of gift ideas, clothing, hot food and drinks to get the city into the festive spirit.

Witek Wilczynski, a worker on the Snail and Rabbit loose leaf tea stall, said: “We’ve got a shop in Nottingham but we decided to do something different.
“We came to Leicester as we’re a local business and saw that there was a new Christmas market going on.”
The grand opening of the market was just one of the two main events going on as the Christmas lights were switched on by Mayor Rashmikant Joshi.
Thousands of people filled Humberstone Gate to enjoy the ceremony.
