Teen arrested on suspicion of murder following stabbing

A murder investigation has been launched by Leicestershire Police following the death of a teenager near the city centre last night.

A Leicestershire Police Spokesperson said: “Police attended Ross Walk, in Leicester, around 9.15pm yesterday evening (Tuesday 31 October) after the ambulance service were called to a report of two people being found injured in the street.

“The injured people, both aged 17, were taken to hospital where one subsequently died. His death is currently being treated as suspicious.

A 16-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

Hamazh Tayoub, of neighbouring street Asha Margh said that he saw two injured people on the ground.

“It happened at 8:45pm yesterday evening, the police have been here all night.”

The area is made up of residential housing and local businesses and the large cordon has closed off Holden Street and Ross Walk.

The area where the teenagers were found has been cordoned off to allow for a full forensic examination and enquiries are continuing in to the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen two teenagers in Ross Walk or has information about the events leading up to the incident.
