A total of 1,000 students will be flying out to New York City with #DMUglobal in January, offering 30 different opportunities from all four faculties at De Montfort University (DMU).
DMU’s trip to the American city will have a greater variety of activities for students than last year, spread over 5 nights according to DMUglobal.
Upon confirming that applications for the January visit had gone live, senior officer atDMUglobal Owen Sheridan said the individual course leaders were able to arrange more for students on the back of the 2017 trip.
“There will be more trips and opportunities for the students to choose.
“Off the back of last year, staff members have built up a network of contacts. This enabled the content and quality of the trips to grow.”
In a DMUglobal survey conducted following the 2017 New York trip, 94 per cent of respondents agreed that the visit had made them more interested in pursuing other global experience opportunities.
Also, 88 per cent said the trip had added value to their course at De Montfort University.
Mr Sheridan added: “The success of last year’s trip led to us repeating this opportunity.
“The feedback from students has allowed the DMUglobal team to tailor January’s trip more for participating students.”
This includes accommodation arrangements, which will now be twin rooms as opposed to quads, and will be in a “fantastic location” close to Times Square.
DMUglobal opened up applications for the 2018 visit to the Big Apple on Monday.
