Three students got some unexpected work experience on Tuesday, when they were invited onto the radio to take part in a live broadcast.
A group of 17 De Montfort University students were taken on a behind the scenes tour of the BBC Radio Leicester Studio as part of their Broadcast Journalism module.
Three third year Journalism students also got the opportunity to then sit in on a show presented by Lukwesa Burak.
Lukwesa invited three students to get to join in with the show one student Beth described it as a “sudden” opportunity to get to go on air.
Beth, Anita and Itunu got to be on air for only a singular link but were then given the chance to be invited back and take part in a journalism centred show on Friday lunchtimes looking at news stories.
The tour included a look at the various recording studios located there both radio and TV as well as a look at a BBC news room and an introduction to the team.
