Jam and chutney makers in Leicester have been showing off their best recipes as part of a ‘Top of the Pots’ competition.

White Stuff, on Market Street, is looking for the best jam or chutney in Leicester and asked customers to bring their best recipe into the store for the charity contest on Thursday, October 9.

Martina Donoghue, a sales assistant at White Stuff said: “Our chosen local charity is Leicester Baby Loss Appeal, for every jar of jam or chutney that’s entered in to the competition White Stuff will make a £10 charity donation to them.

“It’s a great cause!”

The Leicester store received eight entries and will therefore be donating £80 to Leicester Baby Loss Appeal.

The competition is running nationwide and the winning recipe from each shop will be featured in a recipe book that will be sold for charity in the run up to Christmas.

Jars of jam and chutney are also available to buy from the shop for £3.95 with proceeds from sales going to charity.

Stores nationwide are hoping to raise a total of £30,000 for charity.

More information can be found online where entries can be made at whitestuff.com/topofthepots.
