A group of world-renowned circus performers are dazzling audiences at Leicester’s Victoria Park this week.
Planet Circus’ show ‘The Wow Factor’ arrived on Tuesday, October 5 and is running until Sunday, October 12.
Audience reaction to the first night was positive as the circus performed to a near capacity crowd.
Martin Fitzwilliam, who attended the first night of the show with his 5-year-old son Seb, said: “I thought it was fantastic, a really great show.
“It was very good value for money as well – brilliant!”
The acts come from all over the world and some have previously performed in Cirque de Soleil, Moscow and Las Vegas.
With stuntmen, gymnasts and even guest appearances from Mickey Mouse and Buzz Lightyear there are a range of acts to entertain the whole family.
Emily Dawson, who also attended the first night with her family, said: “I’ve not been to a circus since I was 4 and I’m just as excited now as I was then, my favourite act was the American all-star wrestlers!”
The final act in the show is 14-year-old Peter Pavlov, Europe’s youngest stunt rider, joined by the OMG riders from Brazil who risk life and limb racing their motorbikes around a circular cage nicknamed ‘The Globe of Death’.
As well as touring with the circus Peter also appeared on Britain’s Got Talent on ITV earlier this year where he received yes votes from all four judges.
The circus spends around nine months of the year on the road and can visit around 40 towns in that time.
Ticket prices start from £4.99 when booked in advance and can be ordered online from ticketweb.co.uk or from the on site booking office, which is open from 9.30am to 8.30pm daily throughout the circus’ stay.
