Leicestershire’s annual Sausage and Cider Musical Festival took place this weekend at Cattow’s Farm, Heather.

The festival took place over three days opening on Friday 8 June and closed on Sunday 10 June.

The main attractions of the festival were the sausages and cider and they had over 20 varieties of cider to sample and a selection of locally sourced sausages from all over the East Midlands.

Along with the selection of sausages and cider, the festival hosted an array of tribute bands and artists to entertain festivalgoers.

Performers included acts playing tribute to Bon Jovi, Madness, Paramore, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Oasis, Lady Gaga and Kasabian.

Festivalgoer Rosie Burton, student, from Ibstock said: “This is the second year I have come and it is always a good weekend.

“When you consider it being a small, local festival, you couldn’t really ask for anything more, my friends and I can walk here so you can’t really beat it.

“The music is always good and there is always such a buzzing atmosphere.”

The festival welcomed people of all ages and also had fairground rounds to enjoy in between music acts.

The music was spread out between two stages, the main outdoor stage, as well as a smaller stage inside the beer tent where people could enjoy covers of many popular songs.
