Train travel was disrupted this week with three days of industrial action planned.
Rail workers across the country went on strike from Tuesday, May 7, until Thursday 9, as they continue to protest over their pay and working conditions.
This included the East Midland Railway (EMR) that runs through Leicester, with no trains running on the Wednesday.
One disgruntled customer, who did not want to be named, said: “I couldn’t get into uni to hand in my assessment because of the industrial action.
“Luckily I was given an extension, but that’s not the point.”
The disruption followed industrial action on February 3 and April 5 this year, when national rail strikes also affected the EMR, amongst other rail services across the country.
