Train strikes still affecting university students in Leicester

By William Delahunty

With the academic year coming to an end, many students are returning to their homes and for those without the luxury of a car this means taking a long train journey.

The June strikes planned and aided by the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers have rendered a portion of the student body unable to travel back home on the dates of their choosing.

A student from DMU in Leicester had to completely change plans due to the strike action.

She instead had to move up her journey by a few days and change for a portion of the journey to be completed by coach.
