Popular gift shop The Very Bazaar has revealed how it prepares for the Christmas rush and explains how the team have kept their business thriving through the struggle of the cost-of-living crisis.
The Very Bazaar is a unique gift shop in the heart of Leicester, located in Silver Street which consists of many privately owned businesses and vintage shops.
It sells a range of quality items ranging from crystals and incense to clothing and handmade jewellery.

Owner and founder Maz Thompson said: “We actually just celebrated 50 years, we opened in 1973.”
Maz and her husband John Kent first opened their shop together in 1973 and said even during the cost-of-living crisis their business is booming.
Maz said: “To tell you the truth we do really well because we sell at lot of cheap items.
“The Very Bazaar sells items from £2 up to hundreds of pounds so there’s something to suit everyone. From teenagers to the older generations, there’s always something because we cater for everyone.”
The Christmas rush is a busy time for all businesses and The Very Bazaar has to prepare in multiple ways as lots of seasonal shoppers will gather in the city centre during the run up to Christmas.
Maz said: “We have to do quite a lot of trade shows and we have to travel quite a lot around the country looking for new items. We sell a lot of crystals, so we have to hand-pick them.
“Also, we do a lot of ordering from websites until we gather a really nice selection.”
So, if visiting Leicester this winter, be sure to visit The Very Bazaar and explore all of the unique gifts they have to offer.
