One of the oldest Mexican restaurants in Leicester that gained widespread attention during the pandemic is now seeing customer sales drop despite increased foot traffic in the city.
The owner, Viva Loca, serves spicy chicken with a special sauce and gained many new customers through delivery platforms during COVID-19. Although the streets are now busier, overall food sales have declined and regular customers aren’t spending more.
Viva Loca says the uniqueness of her restaurant is that everything is made in house, the business is family-run, offers fresh food with no extra charges, and she treat customers as family.
