Leicester’s free Light Up Festival to return to the city

More than 300 school pupils will take part in Leicester’s free parade in Leicester’s free parade in March.

The Light Up festival will include sound installations, interactive performances with local and international artists, and projections.

Leicester City Council said it will run from Wednesday, March 12, to Saturday 15.

The festival will be inspired by Richard III and the city’s diverse cultural heritage.

The previous festival was held in 2022 and was attended by more than 80,000 people.

Nupur Arts will be putting on a light and dance performance on Friday, March 14 at 6.30pm at the Clock Tower.

Vi Dempser, assistant city mayor, said: “Leicester will come alive with light and colour.”
