Tractor run through North-West Leicestershire raises money for Red Cross

Ivanhoe Vintage Machinery Club from Ashby-de-la-Zouch used its first tractor run of 2022 to raise money for the British Red Cross.

Ferguson, Massey-Ferguson and Ford tractors

All tractors were welcome for the 16-mile road run on Sunday(MARCH20), but included Ferguson, Massey-Ferguson and Ford tractors.

The group of around 20 tractors passed through villages such as Breedon on the Hill and managed to raise £330 for the Red Cross.

Organiser Robert Higham said: “It would be nice to get £200, anything else is a bonus.”

Money was raised through a £15 per tractor fee but also included any extra donations.

Robert explained why they decided to do a tractor run: “Obviously kids like to see them riding round and then it’s only something a few people can do, with the tractors.”

The money raised for the Red Cross will go towards aid kits as well as helping the families in Ukraine.
