Leicester light festival set to return after two years

By Azim Saiyed

The Light-up Leicester project will take place from 3-6 March next month following it’s return since 2020.

Due to COVID restrictions last year, the event was cancelled, but the prior year it turned out to be a huge success.

The city centre streets will be vibrant and illuminated from 6pm-10pm for the three days of the festival.

The event will showcase 9 artworks and each instalment will be at a five-minute walking distance.

This is a friendly festival suitable for families which will include 200 free electric bike rides.

The Leicester City Council have given permission for this event to take place considering COVID guidelines are adhered to.
