City council encourages residents to take COVID vaccine

By Shantelle Gondo

Leicester City Council is urging residents to get the COVID vaccine after many became seriously ill a few week into the Christmas build-up.

A big vaccination drive will be taking place this weekend (NOV26-28), encouraging people across Leicester to get vaccinated.

Extra clinics will be accessible for all local residents.

After getting the vaccine, it takes a few weeks to reach its full effectiveness.

Health officials believe getting vaccinations and boosters continue to be the most effective way to protect individuals, including friends and families.
