Leicester’s bespoke, hand-made Doughnut store, Doughnotts in the Silver Arcade has felt the brutal impact that Covid has unleashed upon many businesses.

The company began in 2015, but brought its diverse doughnut flavours store to Leicester in the Spring of 2017.

Marketing manager of Doughnotts, Daniel Byrne said: “Covid has had a massive impact on the hospitality sector, our stores are known as places to go and hang out with family and friends, we attend some of the largest events in the UK such as Body Power.

“All of which has been cancelled or rearranged until next year which has influenced our projected earnings.”

Doughnotts has been forced to close like many other of its neighbouring stores.

He added: “We’ve used Deliveroo to keep our stores and staff in work, worked closely with local businesses to stock our doughnuts and some secret plans. All of this will continue to keep us ticking over if we’re forced to close again.”
