Tickets on sale for DSU Celebrates at King Power Stadium

Tickets are now on sale for the second annual DSU Celebrates event on Friday, March 27, at King Power Stadium.

The event, starting at 7pm, will consist of a three-course meal, awards and entertainment to celebrate the achievements made by students this year at De Montfort University.

Tickets cost £25 and are available to book from the DSU website.

Student Kieran King, Chair of the Demon Theatre society, told DMU: “DSU Celebrates encapsulates everything amazing about DMU.

“Myself and my committee were lucky enough to receive the Society of the Year award which was an honour to receive. I cannot wait to see what this year has to bring!”

Students are free to nominate themselves, friends or student groups for the following nine awards until Friday, March 20, at 5pm:

• Community Impact Award

• Fundraising Award

• Best New Student Group Award

• Student Group of the Year

• Course Rep of the Year

• Personality of the Year

• Best Performance Society

• Inspirational Change of the Year

• Inclusion Award

Last year’s inaugural event, dubbed A Night at the Casino! was held on all three floors of the Campus Centre on Friday, May 24.

The winners of last year’s awards were:

• Most Improved Society: Psychology

• Volunteer of the Year: Sadie Elisha

• Raise and Give (RAG) Award: Demon Media

• Cultural and Faith Group of the Year: Indian Society

• Course Rep of the Year: Natasha Thakore

• Best New Group: Nursing

• Society of the Year: Demon Theatre

• Sports Club of the Year: American Football

• DSU Personality of the Year: Ratna Yoganandan
