Countries around the world on Sunday celebrated International Women’s Day.
The day wasn’t recognised until 1977 by the United Nations – it recognises the equality that women deserve, and the achievements that they have made.
Marches and rallies happened all around the world in order to celebrate the day.
This year, the United Nations theme for the day was “I Am Generation Equality: Realising Women’s Rights”.

DMU’s Instagram page was posting throughout the day, with informative posts about the commemorative day, with inspirational stories, and how students were celebrating.
