Leicester has been granted the renowned Purple Flag accreditation for its night and evening economy (ENTE).
The award by the Association of Town and City Management (ACTM), perceives the city as a dynamic place for eating, amusement and culture between 5pm and 5am, while investing in the security of the residents
BID Leicester, Leicester City Council, Leicestershire Police and the Safer Leicester Partnership worked together in the application process to show how the city fulfilled five key guidelines, including exhibiting a solid multi-area association dealing with the ENTE; being easy to move around and offering a safe journey home; having a differing offer to the public; encouraging the public to stay out in the evening; and being secure and inviting, just as delivering high standards of client care.
