The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will brave the elements today (FEB 11) as they visit several hospitals, charities and businesses around Leicestershire.
Snowfall sightings and high winds have struck the region in recent days, with Tuesday set to be another blustery one. Wind speeds are predicted to reach 46mph by noon.
Despite the weather, Charles and Camilla will travel to Leicester Market, where they will meet stallholders and members of the Shama Women’s Centre charity.
The women’s advocacy group was established in 1983 to ‘empower women and girls to become more active educationally, economically and socially through a range of activities that develop their confidence, employability skills, health and well-being’.
Those wishing to catch a glimpse of the royal pair have been advised to gather at the New Market Square, in Leicester, before 12.45pm.
Charles and Camilla will be joined by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge earlier in the day, when they visit the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) at Stanford Hall, near Loughborough. There they will meet patients and staff.
Avid royalist, Nicky Osbourne, who will at the market, said: “It’s great that Charles and Camilla are coming to Leicester. It shows what a great city this is.
“I hope the poor weather doesn’t put too much of a dampener on the day.”
