A man has appeared in court charged in connection with several break-ins, including at a Leicester student accommodation building.
The newly-finished and award-nominated student accommodation Oval Living, in New Walk, houses predominantly international students who in December reported items had been stolen, including letters, parcels and bikes.
Due to the break-ins, Oval Living has upgraded its security with a new sliding door system and a keypad entry gate.
Rupee Kaur, 27, the landlord, said: “Altogether, with maintenance men, ordering the parts, all of that, its cost about £3,000.”
A man appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Saturday(FEB1) charged with several counts of burglary. The case was adjourned until March 2 at Leicester Crown Court.
