International rap star, Drake performed at Republic night club, Leicester last night(THUR,MAR28) despite speculation that he’d be a no-show.
To the delight of fans that were able to get their hands on tickets, Drake did arrive and treated the audience to an electric performance of his latest hits.
De Montfort University Student Jason Nguyen, who was at the concert, said: “I had goose bumps seeing a world superstar, in Leicester, in uni and in Club Republic was amazing.”
The artist is currently in the midst of his tour ‘The Assassination Vacation’, which includes a seven-night residency at the O2 arena in London.
As one of the biggest artists in the world, resell prices for Drake tickets run into the hundreds, so many fans were left in disbelief when Republic advertised their official Drake tour after party for £35-£50.
Earlier in the day, the artists posted a story on his Instagram which appeared to confirm that he would be in town.
But speculation still surrounded the event with many sure he wouldn’t come after he pulled out of an event in Leicester two years earlier.
