The Leicester Falcons welcomed the Houston Texans’ Quarterback Deshaun Watson ahead of their pre-season game against the Oxford Saints today (Sunday March 24).

The NFL superstar hosted a QB clinic for the Falcons’ Quarterbacks and a few lucky recipients of private invites. It is understood he is filming part of a documentary where he visits various American Football clubs across Europe.

Ryan Cummings, 24, a Quarterback for the Leicester Falcons, said: “Being coached today by Deshaun Watson really felt like a dream come true.

“He helped me better understand some of the techniques, and how I can improve both my footwork and my throwing. It was awesome.”

After the clinic, Watson gave fans the chance to take some photos with him and sign autographs.

The 23-year-old sensation was drafted out of Clemson University with the 12th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and has quickly demonstrated truly elite potential already.

Some students from the two Leicester universities were in attendance at the game, and took the opportunity to meet Watson, before he had to leave.

Alex said: “It was absolutely amazing to meet a real NFL star.”

Max added: “It was really cool to be able to talk to him, and see how he is in every day life, rather than just seeing him on the TV.”
