Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to visit Leicester

By Alex Murray

Prince William and Kate are to visit Leicester this week to pay tribute to the victims of the recent helicopter crash.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit the City on Wednesday, when the couple will visit the King Power Stadium, and also meet members of the public.

The duke paid tribute to Khun Vichai recently, calling himself lucky to be a friend of the former Leicester City chairman.

The royals will meet players, volunteers and charity workers on their visit to the city.

The pair will also travel to the University of Leicester, to hear about some of the educational programmes that the club helped to support there.

This includes a £1 million donation made by Khun Vichai in May 2018, which will be used to fund medical research at the university.
