Get your free meal at Code Café

By Ollie Churm

Code Café on Western Road, is offering residents of Code student accommodation the chance to get a free meal each day this week.

The café will be offering a variety of free meals, Monday to Friday, from 11am to 3pm, ranging from Burger and Chips, Penne Pasta and even a Caribbean Buffet on the Friday as part of their Caribbean Carnival.

Steve Stroud, a member of the Code team, spoke of how this is part of an incentive to boost social interaction between students during their busy exam period.

Mr Stroud said: “We love the students and we want to ensure they feel like they can come down and socialise with other students and the staff.

“This is just before their exam period, so we wanted to provide a place where everyone can come to relax and get away from the exam stress and have a chat with people they might not usually see.

“We’ve been getting about 100-120 students a day and it’s nice to see the café busy.”

On Friday, Code will be finishing off its week of free food by hosting a Caribbean Carnival for all residents of Code to attend and will take place from 6pm to 10pm.

The Carnival will provide not only a free Caribbean buffet, but free cocktails and rum punch, Calypso dancers, a steel band and a DJ.

Students can take advantage of this offer by collecting their free wrist band from the accommodation’s office.

Get down to the Code Café everyday this week for free food and a last chance to party before exams.
