DMU relieves exam pressure with revision workshops running this week

By Erik Dawson

At this time of year, students at DMU are busy revising for their end of year exams.

This time of year can be very stressful for some pupils, and the university is holding special sessions including exam preparation tips, and how to use note-taking software to aid revision.

Many students are feeling the pressure at this crucial point in the academic calendar, one of these students being Dayne Hall, a business and marketing student, who said: “I’m definitely feeling the stress, it’s been a lot of long nights in the library.”

The university has organised sessions running all week since Monday that will focus on revision tips and methods, as well as how to use software to help you retain information better and how to write a high quality exam response.

Sam Jones, a first year history student, when asked what he thought about the revision workshops offered, said: “I think they will be useful in aiding my revision, making my strategies better and hopefully get me through my exams.”

These workshops will all be held in the Kimberlin Library and to sign up for the workshop students need to register on the DMU website. The workshops have limited numbers and will fill up quickly so students will need to hurry to book their places.

For students who cannot make these dates or don’t manage to get a place on the workshops, they can also go and visit the student advice centres around campus, or they can also see a member of the advice centre teams with any troubles or queries.

Students can book their places onto the workshop here.
