Leicester City Council approve Beaumont Leys Lane plan

Despite objection from some local residents, Leicester City Council unanimously accepted plans for an extension on Beaumont Leys Lane, on Wednesday.

The proposed construction, on 46 Beaumont Leys Lane, involves a single storey extension to the front and rear of the property, as well as a two storey extension at the side of the property and a single storey outbuilding being at the rear of the property.

Leicester City Council’s Planning and Development Committee were required to debate the plans after 12 local residents objected to the plans as a result of concerns of reduced property values in the local area.

However every member of the committee voted for the plans to go ahead with the chair of the committee, Councillor Cassidy, saying in the meeting: “We are quite happy to support extensions like these.”
