Man’s body found: Two men remain in custody

Two men remained in custody yesterday evening where they continued to be questioned by detectives in connection with the death of Promise Ndlovu.

The men, aged 34 and 55, were arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday (October 29) after the body of the 40-year-old was found by a member of the public in Charter Street, Leicester, at about 8.25am that morning.

A 44-year-old man, who was also arrested in connection with the death, was released with no further action.

Detectives were actively pursuing a number of lines of enquiry, which included searching part of a property in Charter Street.

They are keen to hear from anyone who may have information about the events leading up to Mr Ndlovu’s death, or who was in the area of Charter Street on Friday night or the early hours of Saturday morning.

The results of a post-mortem examination were inconclusive and, although further tests are being conducted, detectives were treating the death as murder.

Anyone with any information about the death should call 101, quoting incident number 201 of 29 October.
