Apparently 16.8m votes will be needed to win this referendum.
Leave is making the early running BUT none of the big Remain-leaning urban areas with a lot of votes has declared yet.
All we know at this stage is this is looking like it’s going to be very close indeed. Whoever wins, a lot of work will need to be done afterwards to heal the obvious divides the campaign has revealed. A likely very close votes also means this issue will not go away whatever the result.
