On February 23 2016, Demon Media hosted a 48-hour live broadcast from a secret location on campus (which was made to look like they were in space) in order to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support and FOCUS.

The event was part of De Montfort University’s RAG week (Raise and Give), and the 20 contestants were made up of pairs of Demon FM presenters, which were all encouraging fellow students to vote for them onliDemons in Space 1ne to allow them to stay in the competition, and also present a two hour radio show from the location.

Ethan Taylor, 21, who was a contestant in the event, said: “Demons in Space was such a good experience and I am so proud of everyone that took part.”

It was hard to stay awake for 48 hours straight, but we all helped each other, and doing it for charity made it even more worthwhile. Me and my presenting partner came third out of everyone, which I was so happy about.”

All together, the event managed to get 142 donations via their website, and raised a total of £1,603.
